Policy Announcement: The Luxembourg Negative Emissions Tariff (L-NET)
On Tuesday Nov 8, Deputy Sven Clement, representing the minority Pirate Party in the Luxembourg Parliament (Chambre des Députés) deposited The Luxembourg Negative Emissions Tariff (L-NET). As law this new, first-of-kind legislation would aim to leverage the small European nation’s wealth and significant global footprint as a leading financial center to drive innovation and early growth of negative emissions technologies such as Direct Air Carbon Capture (DACC), both within its borders and abroad.
In this short session, Deputy Clement will provide a short statement about the L-NET, and discuss the origins, policy elements and rationale for the legislation with OpenAir co-founder Chris Neidl.
