Addressing the need to take a holistic approach to climate change adaptation and mitigation, combining nature-based and engineered solutions.

Nature-based solutions, such as protecting and restoring forests, wetlands, and other ecosystems, can help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve resilience to climate impacts, and provide a wide range of other benefits for people and nature. Engineered solutions, such as direct air capture + storage and renewable energy technologies, can also play a vital role in reducing emissions and mitigating the effects of climate change.

However, neither nature-based nor engineered solutions can solve the climate crisis on their own. We need to use a holistic approach that combines both types of solutions to achieve our climate goals. This means working to protect and restore our natural ecosystems while also developing and deploying clean energy technologies and other engineered solutions.
